What’s Happening ?
To celebrate the end of the harvest you are invited to mingle at Claire & Patrick Bleakley’s property to experience the autumn colours, catch up with each other, and to take part in...
The Organic Grower’s Cookbook Project: Mandi Porta, from the Blueberry Farm, is collecting recipes from organic growers from around the country to create an organic grower’s cookbook. This is our chance to profile Wairarapa organic growers.
Growers can bring:
• some of your produce or ingredients (if possible)
• plus one or two dishes of your favourite recipes using mostly organic products that you have grown yourself.
• A printed copy of the recipes for the dishes (or email to milstone@xtra.co.nz )
• A copy of your organic certification (if possible)
• Any props (linen, flowers, crockery, baskets etc) that will help show off your dishes & produce the way you want
Mandi will photograph them and collect the recipes. (Here is the link to Mandi's blog about the cookbook - http://organicgrowerscookbook.blogspot.com/ )
Organic Car Boot Sale/Buy-Sell-Trade: Sell or trade your produce, old organics magazines, cuttings, plants, tools, pots, seeds, books, unloved or unused stuff in cupboards or hidden away at the back of the shed etc? A sheltered area will be available for this.
If you have machinery or large articles to sell, trade or hire to other growers, bring a photo & details to spread the word.
Communal Pot-luck Lunch: Amongst this activity people are encouraged to bring something to put on a communal table for lunch (hopefully we will have the Cookbook recipes too).
